Samajwadi Party does not want to leave any stone unturned to win the upcoming assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh. SP has given a clear message to the existing and potential parties of the India alliance. According to party sources, any party included in the alliance will be allowed to field only those candidates who are victorious. This move is part of SP’s strategy to ensure victory in the upcoming elections.

SP believes that the success of the alliance depends on how effective the candidates fielded are. In such a situation, the allies including Congress will have to first present the names of their candidates and details of their victory possibilities.

SP is preparing for all 403 seats

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav is busy strengthening the organization. He has prepared to contest elections on all 403 seats of the state. The organization of the party is ready up to the booth level. SP is also getting caste census done on the basis of voter list from its booth presidents. Due to which it will be known before the elections which caste has more voters in which assembly. In such a situation, the ticket will be given to the candidate of the same caste on the basis of preference.

In the year 2022, Samajwadi Party had contested the assembly elections in alliance with Rashtriya Log Dal, Suheldev Bharatiya Samaj Party. The party had won 111 seats. RLD had won 8 seats and Suhail Dev Party had won 6 seats. Shortly after the assembly elections, Suhail Dev Bharatiya Samaj Party and RLD broke ties with SP and joined BJP.

Congress was limited to only 2 seats

In the year 2022, Congress alone had fielded candidates on all 403 seats in UP. The party was able to win two seats. Even the deposits of most of the party’s candidates were confiscated. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Congress contested the elections in alliance with SP. SP had hoisted the flag by winning 37 seats, while Congress had also won 6 seats whereas in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Congress had managed to win only one seat.

Akhilesh Yadav and Rahul Gandhi are ready to contest elections in alliance in UP. Congress will demand more than 100 seats in the upcoming elections. At the same time, SP has been working on seat distribution with the new policy at the grassroots level. In such a situation, the process of seat distribution will also be affected.
