Issuing a notification on its official social media handles, CBSE stated that a fake circular is being circulated, claiming that the processes for obtaining scanned copies and for re-checking have been discontinued.
CBSE Fake Notice: Following the release of the CBSE Class 12 Board results, a fake notice regarding the scanned copy and re-checking procedures is rapidly going viral on social media. The viral notice claims that the processes for obtaining photocopies of answer sheets and for re-evaluation have been cancelled for Class 12 students. However, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has categorically termed this claim as completely fake. CBSE has clarified that the procedures for obtaining scanned copies, verification of marks, and re-evaluation will continue as before. The Board has appealed to students and parents not to place their trust in any rumors or viral messages, and to seek information solely from the official website.
CBSE Issues ‘Fake News’ Alert
Issuing a notification on its official social media handles, CBSE stated that a fake circular is being circulated, claiming that the processes for obtaining scanned copies and for re-checking have been discontinued. The Board has described this as entirely incorrect and misleading. The Board affirmed that CBSE remains fully committed to maintaining transparency, fairness, and accuracy in its evaluation and re-evaluation processes. Every genuine grievance raised by students will be examined by subject experts in accordance with the established procedures.
Application Deadline for Scanned Copies Extended
In light of technical glitches, the Board has also extended the deadline for applying for scanned copies. Initially, the final date for applications was set for May 22; this was subsequently extended to May 23, and students have now been granted the opportunity to apply until May 24, 2026. The Board stated that this decision was taken following persistent technical issues encountered on the portal, ensuring that no student is deprived of the opportunity to apply.
Numerous Technical Glitches Plague the Portal
During the process, which commenced on May 20, many students reported encountering difficulties with the portal. Initially, the website remained inaccessible for extended periods; subsequently, numerous students faced issues such as failed payments, unsuccessful application submissions, and the inability to download scanned copies. Students also complained that the portal was erroneously displaying a fee of ₹69,000 per copy. Following a continuous stream of complaints, the Board issued directives to its technical team to rectify these issues.
How Will the Re-evaluation Process Work?
Under the CBSE’s new framework, students must first obtain a scanned copy of their evaluated answer sheets. Subsequently, students have the option to apply for the verification of marks or for re-evaluation, should they wish to do so. The Board states that the objective of this process is to provide students with an opportunity to view their answer sheets in a transparent manner, thereby dispelling any doubts or apprehensions they may harbor.
