The Liverpool star is set to leave Anfield this summer, though his next destination remains uncertain.

Speculation is mounting over Mohamed Salah’s future as the Egyptian forward prepares to end his long association with Liverpool.

The Egypt international is expected to depart the club after a disappointing final campaign for the Reds, during which he openly expressed frustration about being left out of the squad and questioned the tactical approach under manager Arne Slot.

After spending nine seasons at Anfield, Salah is now considering his next move, with one recent report indicating that he hopes to avoid a transfer to the Saudi Pro League.

Salah has previously been linked with a high-value switch to Saudi Arabia, with Liverpool having declined a significant offer for him a couple of years ago.

Fresh rumours about a potential Saudi move resurfaced following confirmation of his summer exit earlier this season. However, according to Caught Offside, Salah is determined to remain in European football.

In that context, the Turkish powerhouse Fenerbahce has reportedly emerged as a possible destination for the 31-year-old forward.

It is understood that representatives of Salah have received an ‘informal offer’ during preliminary discussions with the Istanbul-based club.

An unnamed insider told Caught Offside: “Salah is extremely ambitious. At this point, I don’t see him moving to Saudi. Fenerbahce have held early talks and the discussions appear encouraging.”

A move to Fenerbahce could also provide Salah with an opportunity to climb into the top ten all-time scorers in the UEFA Champions League and European Cup combined. He currently sits 11th with 54 goals, just behind Thomas Muller (57), Andriy Shevchenko (59), and Ruud van Nistelrooy (60).

At present, Fenerbahce are managed on an interim basis by Zeki Murat Gole following Domenico Tedesco’s dismissal last month.

Tedesco, who replaced Jose Mourinho in September after Mourinho’s return to Benfica, was relieved of his duties after failing to close the gap on arch-rivals Galatasaray despite a strong run of results.
