If you’ve ever dreamt of writing for one of the world’s leading football magazines, here’s your chance to find out how.
Have a story idea for FourFourTwo magazine? We’re open to pitches for both print and online editions and welcome contributions from writers of all levels of experience.
All proposed features should align with the style and tone of FourFourTwo’s ongoing content and should be directed to one of our magazine sections — Upfront, Main Features, Players Lounge — or for publication on the website. For every pitch, we expect the following:
Subject line – Include the word ‘PITCH’ along with a concise description of your article in the subject line so we can instantly understand your idea.
What’s your piece? – In the body of your email, briefly outline your concept in a few bullet points and explain why you’re the ideal person to write it.
Avoid repetition – If we’ve just run a feature about the Copa America, we’re unlikely to commission another one on the same topic. Review recent issues of both the magazine and the website to ensure your idea brings something fresh.
Share your background – Let us know a bit about yourself. Are you a professional writer? Comfortable working under tight deadlines? Have you received recognition for your writing? Include a brief note about your experience.
Don’t send completed articles – We prefer to collaborate with writers during the development of their stories, so please wait until we’ve officially commissioned your piece before you start writing.
Stay updated with the best features, fun football quizzes, and exclusive insights delivered straight to your inbox every week.
All magazine pitches should be sent via email to: fourfourtwo@futurenet.com
If you’re looking to contribute to the FourFourTwo website, follow the same guidelines but send your pitch to: fourfourtwoonline@futurenet.com
Before submitting your idea, make sure you’ve read through some recent editions of FourFourTwo as well as the latest content on our website.
Please note: Due to the high volume of submissions we receive, we’ll only respond to pitches that we decide to commission.
