Veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan visited a Mumbai hospital for a routine monthly health check-up, PTI reported citing a source, who also dismissed the media reports that claimed he had been admitted for three days due to stomach-related issues.
Reports circulating in sections of the media had alleged that the 83-year-old actor was hospitalised at Nanavati Hospital over the weekend. However, sources close to the actor denied the claims, saying the visit was part of his regular medical examinations.
“He went in for a routine health check-up and came back home. He usually goes every month for checkup,” the source said.
Bachchan, who frequently interacts with fans through his blog and social media updates, has not officially commented on the reports surrounding his health.
The actor was recently seen attending his weekly ‘Sunday Darshan’ outside his Mumbai residence ‘Jalsa’, where he greeted fans gathered outside his home — a tradition he has continued for years.
Amid the unverified reports, Bachchan posted a cryptic Hindi poem on his blog, sparking curiosity among fans online.
“Cheel jab howe shant to bhaiya, tote bolan suru karen ik bir fatte, kahan, chal hamau, pilave suru karen!!!! bajre di roti kha di, fu padiyon da, saag re munh mein dalan lagai jaise, bolan lage kaag re!!!!”
In the early hours of Monday, the actor also shared pictures and videos from his Sunday interaction with fans and reflected on the emotional experience.
“I go in from the house to meet the wellwishers .. staff security and police tell me its ready to come .. and as I walk apprehension .. will they be there .. will they greet me .. or booo .. ? and then I hear the cheers, and the adrenaline activates and the body and limbs move in cohesion,” he wrote.
“Almost as an intrusion .. a loving intrusion .. and the joy of seeing so much joy in others .. the constants , the elderly the little kids who do not know what the heck is going on .. but cute they are .. Ahhhh .. such a blessing .. the Almighty be praised ..” he added.
On the work front, Bachchan is awaiting the release of Section 84, directed by Ribhu Dasgupta. He will also be seen in the sequel to Kalki 2898 AD.
