Bhuvan Chandra Khanduriformer Chief Minister of Uttarakhand and senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader, passed away on Tuesday, triggering condolences from political leaders across the country.
Khanduri, popularly known as B.C. Khanduri, was a retired Major General of the Indian Army before entering politics and was regarded as one of Uttarakhand’s prominent political figures. He served as the Chief Minister of Uttarakhand in two separate terms and also held key positions in the Union government during his political career.
Leaders from across party lines paid tribute to the veteran politician, remembering his administrative experience, military background and contribution to infrastructure development and governance.
Khanduri had represented the Garhwal parliamentary constituency multiple times in the Lok Sabha and was closely associated with issues to hill development, roads and defence matters.
