CM Vijay’s big bang! Tamil Nadu cabinet will change this week, lottery will open for 2 Congress MLAs

The biggest news of this time is coming out from the politics of Tamil Nadu. The new Chief Minister of the state, C. Joseph Vijay, who took charge as the head of the 17th Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu on May 10, is now in action mode. After the formation of the new government, preparations are now underway for the first plenary session and many major administrative decisions. Meanwhile, there is news that Chief Minister Vijay is going to make a big expansion of his cabinet, due to which the political turmoil has intensified from Chennai to Delhi.

Initially, CM Vijay took the oath of office and secrecy along with only nine ministers. But now according to information received from inside sources, the Chief Minister can expand his cabinet this week. It is believed that the coalition partners are going to get a big gift in this new cabinet, in which two Congress MLAs (MLAs) can be made direct ministers. N. Anand, Aadav Arjun and K.A. With veteran leaders like Sengottaiyan joining the government, a completely new political era has begun in the state.

Ever since this new government came to power, discussions were very intense between the ruling coalition and supporting groups regarding getting a place in the cabinet. In fact, during the first historic conference of Tamilaga Vetri Kazhagam (TVK) held in Vikravandi itself, Vijay had made a big announcement from an open forum that all the parties and groups supporting his government would be given proper and respectable representation in governance.

Now Chief Minister Vijay is moving ahead keeping his old assurance and election promise. If reports are to be believed from political circles, the Congress party, which became part of the alliance after the elections, may get two lucrative ministerial posts in this proposed cabinet expansion. For this, a tussle has started in the Congress camp also over the names of ministers.

To work out the mathematics of alliance, not only Congress but also the leaders who have shocked the opposition are going to be favoured. S.P., who separated from the main opposition party AIADMK and extended unconditional support to the Vijay government. Leaders associated with the Velumani faction are also hopeful of getting a larger stake in the government. According to insiders, a maximum of five cabinet minister posts are being considered to keep this rebel group happy.

Apart from this, other small parties and social groups supporting the government from outside are also continuously putting pressure on them to get a place in the cabinet. Chief Minister Vijay himself is currently busy in preparing the final structure of the expanded cabinet and is holding marathon meetings and discussions with all the big allies and supporting leaders of the alliance.

Swearing in ceremony will be held at Raj Bhavan, cabinet can reach 34 members

Political analysts and sources say that within the next two-three days this round of discussions will be completed and the final list of new ministers will be prepared. Experts estimate that after this mega-expansion, the total number of Tamil Nadu Cabinet members may reach around 34. However, while balancing this entire equation and the constraints of the alliance, Chief Minister Vijay has ensured that the most important and big departments remain with his own party TVK.

The grand swearing-in ceremony of the new and additional ministers is likely to be held at the Raj Bhavan in Chennai, where state Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will administer the oath of office and secrecy to all the new ministers. Immediately after this cabinet expansion, the first assembly session of the newly formed government will begin, which will be officially started with a special address by the Governor.
