Raipur :- Chemists and drug dealers across the country have decided to keep medical shops closed on May 20. In this connection, medical shops will remain closed in entire Chhattisgarh including the capital Raipur. This bandh has been called by All India Organization of Chemists and Druggists (AIOCD). According to the information, more than 3300 medical shops will remain closed in Raipur city. There is a possibility that the pharmaceutical business will be completely affected across the state. Medical stores operating in medical complexes and private markets will also remain closed. However, keeping in mind the convenience of patients, medical stores operating inside the hospital premises will remain open so that emergency services are not affected.
Movement against online medicine sales
Chemist organizations say that online medicine sales are putting the safety of patients at risk. The organization has described the sale of medicines without a valid doctor’s prescription as serious and dangerous. Traders allege that online platforms are supplying medicines without following the rules, increasing health risks. The agitating drug traders have demanded withdrawal of GSR 817 and GSR 220 rules from the Central Government. The organization says that these provisions will affect the traditional medical business and may deepen the economic crisis for small traders.
Important information for those buying medicines
Due to closure of medical shops on May 20, common people may face problems in availability of medicines. In such a situation, patients taking regular medicines have been advised to purchase the necessary medicines in advance.
