The Boys Season 5 finale countdown begins
After weeks of deaths, betrayals, political chaos and brutal fights, The Boys is now heading toward its final episode. Prime Video’s superhero drama is preparing to end its main story with Season 5 Episode 8, titled Blood and Bone. Fans have been waiting to see how the long-running battle between Billy Butcher and Homelander finally comes to an end, especially after the shocking events of Episode 7.

The final season has already delivered several major twists, and the upcoming finale now carries the pressure of wrapping up the stories of Butcher, Hughie, Starlight, Kimiko, Homelander and the remaining members connected to Vought.

The Boys Season 5 Episode 8 release date and time

The Boys Season 5 Episode 8 will release on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, on Prime Video.

The episode will drop at 12:00 AM PT in the United States. That translates to 3:00 AM ET and 8:00 AM BST. In India, viewers are expected to get the episode around 12:30 PM IST, following the platform’s usual release pattern for the series.

The finale is also expected to be available in several dubbed languages apart from English, including Hindi, Malayalam, French, Japanese, Arabic and Portuguese.

Season 5 has moved quickly because Prime Video released two episodes together during the premiere week. Since then, the show has followed a weekly release schedule. This upcoming chapter will officially serve as the series finale.

What happened in Episode 7?

The previous episode left almost every major character in a dangerous position. Homelander tightened his grip on power and ordered Ashley and Steven to announce the Democratic Church of America as the official religion. However, things turned deadly after Steven hesitated.

At the same time, Annie and Mother’s Milk tried to uncover Oh-Father’s plans with help from Marie Moreau and Jordan Li from Gen V. Meanwhile, Frenchie and Butcher exposed Kimiko to uranium in an attempt to give her abilities similar to Soldier Boy’s powers so Homelander’s abilities could eventually be neutralised.

The episode also ended with tragedy as Frenchie died, leaving Kimiko devastated. Homelander later arrived at the hideout while tensions inside the group continued to rise.

What to expect from the finale

The trailer for Blood and Bone has already teased a violent showdown at the White House. The preview opens with Billy Butcher saying, “We need to end the whole bloody notion of Supes,” before showing the team preparing for one final attack.

The footage also hints at major action scenes involving Starlight, The Deep and Ashley Barrett. The Boys are now believed to be carrying a deadly virus capable of killing Supes, and that may become their biggest weapon against Homelander.

Many fans are also wondering who survives the finale. Questions remain around Butcher’s fate, Ryan’s role in the conflict and whether Homelander can actually be stopped.

Reports have also noted that characters like Soldier Boy and some major Gen V figures do not appear in the trailer, even though fan theories suggested they could return for the final battle.

Finale gets theatrical screening in the US

Before streaming online, the final episode is also getting a limited theatrical screening in select 4DX theatres in the United States on May 19, 2026. However, that special screening will not be available in India.

Based on the comic series created by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson, The Boys first premiered in 2019 and became one of Amazon Prime Video’s biggest original franchises. Even though the main story is ending now, the universe is expected to continue through spin-off projects like Vought Rising.
