The country’s first premium hatchback car
This includes CNG and automatic driving
Mumbai: Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited (TMPV), India’s leading automobile manufacturer, today announced the introduction of AMT technology in the Altroz ICNG, making the vehicle India’s first and only premium hatchback with an Auto (AMT) transmission with a CNG powertrain. 8.69 lakhs price (Automobile) with Altroz ICNG reinforces the AMT brand’s ‘Feel Special’ ethos, where the vehicle combines the efficiency of CNG with the convenience of automatic driving, while continuing to offer the most comprehensive multi-powertrain line-up in the segment.
The Tata Altroz ICNG AMT model is available in various variants and customers can choose according to their preference. The ‘Pure’ base variant of the series is priced at Rs 8,69,990 ex-showroom Delhi, while the ‘Pure S’ variant is available at Rs 8,99,990. The mid-range ‘Creative’ variant is priced at Rs 9,59,990 and the ‘Creative S’ variant is priced at Rs 9,81,990. The top variant ‘Accomplish S’ which is the most premium in this range can be bought for Rs 10,76,990. All these prices are based on ex-showroom rates in Delhi.
Commenting on the launch, Vivek Srivats, Chief Commercial Officer, Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Limited said, “Altroz has consistently set new benchmarks in the premium hatchback segment with its focus on design, safety and powertrain options. CNG is the fastest growing fuel option in the country. Its share was 19 per cent in FY25 and 22 per cent in FY26. This growth is no longer limited to traditional new markets. There is a large response from the regions as well.

By introducing AMT technology to the ICNG line-up, we are catering to the growing customer demand for more convenience in CNG vehicles. These new extensions make the Altroz the most versatile and premium car in its segment, striking the right balance of performance, driving ease and everyday utility without compromising on space or safety.”
Regarding the Altroz ICNG AMT: Powered by a 1.2 liter Revotron ICNG engine, the Altroz produces 73.5 PS of power and 103 Nm of torque in CNG mode. Now for the first time it is paired with AMT, which makes the driving experience more pleasant and convenient especially in city traffic. At the heart of the ICNG technology is the advanced single ECU, which allows switching between petrol and CNG modes with ease.
Electric Car: 683 km range, 5-star safety and powerful looks; ‘This’ electric car is cheaper by almost 2 lakhs
The segment-first Direct Start in CNG feature enhances convenience and ensures consistent performance during uphill or long-distance journeys. The Altroz uses TMPV’s twin-cylinder ICNG technology, with the cylinders mounted under the luggage compartment. This results in a usable boot space of 210 liters even in CNG mode, which overcomes the lack of space associated with CNG vehicles, while the petrol and diesel variants offer 345 liters of boot space.
