Bank Holiday: If you have to do any important work to the bank, then this news is important for you. On Friday, December 19, 2025, banks will remain closed not in the entire country but only in Goa. The reason for this is Goa Liberation Day, which is celebrated every year on 19 December in the state.
Why will banks remain closed on 19th December?
Goa got independence from Portuguese rule on 19 December 1961 and Goa Liberation Day is celebrated in memory of this historical day. There is a government holiday in the state on this occasion. Therefore, all government and private bank branches will remain closed in Goa. However, banks will remain open normally in the rest of the states of the country.
