Bank holiday alert: The second week of June 2025 demands a little vigilance for the banking customers. If you have prepared any necessary action plan to the bank this week, then once you should look at the holiday calendar of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The reason is that banks are going to be closed for three days this week.

One of these holidays is on the occasion of Saint Guru Kabir Jayanti, while the remaining two holidays are regularly on the second Saturday and Sunday. 11 June 2025 (Wednesday)

  • opportunity: Saint Guru Kabir Jayanti / Saga Dawa (Buddhist festival)
  • State: Sikkim (Gangtok) and Himachal Pradesh (Shimla)
  • Effect: Bank branches will remain closed in both these cities.

14 June 2025 (Saturday)

  • opportunity: Second Saturday (Bank holiday across India)
  • Effect: All banks will remain closed across the country.

15 June 2025 (Sunday)

  • opportunity: Weekly holiday
  • Effect: Banks will remain closed across the country.

Other major bank holidays for the month of June (Bank Holiday Alert)

  • June 21 (Saturday): Banks will be closed in Mumbai and Belapur on the occasion of Vat Purnima.
  • June 22 (Sunday): Regular weekly holiday
  • June 27 (Friday): Regional holiday due to Rath Yatra (Bhubaneswar, Odisha) and Kang festival (Imphal, Manipur)
  • June 28 (Saturday): Fourth Saturday (nationwide bank holiday)
  • June 29 (Sunday): General Sunday holiday
  • June 30 (Monday): Banks in Mizoram (Aizawl) will remain closed due to Remna Ni festival.

Digital banking services will be active (Bank Holiday Alert)

Although physical bank branches will remain closed on the above dates, your banking facilities will not be completely interrupted. The reason is that low digital platforms 24 × 7 will be available:

  • UPI (Unified Payments Interface)
  • Net banking
  • mobile banking
  • ATM services

Through these you can use balance check, fund transfer, bill payment and many other services uninterrupted.
