The Bima Sakhi scheme provides training and financial assistance to women. They receive a monthly stipend for three years.

Many women hope to grow financially while performing their responsibilities as housewives and employees. They want to stand on their own two feet. However, LIC has come up with a great scheme to fulfill their dreams. It is called "Bima Sakhi Yojana". This scheme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 9, 2024. It is noteworthy that more than 52,000 women registered within a month of its launch.

Eligibility for Bima Sakhi
There are certain qualifications to become a Bima Sakhi. The age should be between 18 and 70 years. Also, one should have passed at least 10th class. Immediate relatives of LIC employees or agents i.e. wife, husband, children, parents, siblings or in-laws. Also, retired LIC employees, former agents and currently working agents are not eligible for this scheme.

Training and Stipend
The Bima Sakhi scheme provides training and financial assistance to women. They receive a monthly stipend for three years. Rs. 7,000 per month is paid in the first year; Rs. 6,000 per month in the second year; and Rs. 5,000 per month in the third year.

However, there are certain conditions that apply to get this stipend. You must have a retention rate of at least 65% of the policies you sold last year. That is, at least 65% of the policyholders must continue with the policy. This shows your performance and commitment. Women who join this training program can receive the stipend for the first year without meeting this 65% policy retention rate condition. The condition applies from the second year onwards.

How much income do you get?
LIC offers not only a stipend but also the opportunity to earn according to your talent. You can earn attractive commissions on the policies you sell. For example, you can earn up to Rs. 48,000 on policies sold in the first year, excluding bonuses.

After completing this training ,
you will be eligible to become an LIC agent. Not only that, but if your talent is recognized, you also have the opportunity to advance to higher positions within LIC, such as Development Officer.

How to apply? Go to the official website https://licindia.in. On the homepage, look for the section called 'Bima Sakhi'. Then fill in the application form with your details like name, date of birth, mobile number, email ID, address. Then upload self-attested copies of age proof, address proof, educational qualifications. Next, if you are associated with any LIC agent, development officer, employee or medical examiner, give their details. Finally, enter the captcha code and submit the application form.

Bima Sakhi Nationwide
LIC aims to have at least one Bima Sakhi in every panchayat in the country by the next year. LIC plans to recruit 1,00,000 Bima Sakhis in the next 12 months and increase the number to 2,00,000 in the next three years. This is a testament to LIC's commitment to women empowerment.
