In order to profit from the ELI plan, which was launched by the Indian government and will go into effect on January 15, 2025, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organization has urged its members—especially new hires—to activate their UAN and link their Aadhaar with their bank account.

The Central Government’s ELI Scheme, which was introduced in the 2024 Budget, aims to formalize occupations and provide adolescents with work prospects. By administering the program, the EPFO makes it possible to directly transmit cash incentives to qualified recipients.
How to Online Activate UAN
To qualify for the ELI program, activate your UAN online by completing these steps:
1. Go to the official EPFO website.
2. Select “For Employees” under Services.
3. “Member UAN Online Service (OCS/OTCP)” is selected.
4. Select “Activate UAN” from the list of Important Links.
5. Type in your name, date of birth, Aadhaar number, UAN, and Aadhaar-registered cellphone number.
6. Next, choose “Get Authorization Pin” after entering the captcha code.
7. Enter your Aadhaar-linked mobile number’s OTP and click “Submit.”
8. A password will be sent to your registered cellphone number upon activation. To modify it for secure access, the user must log in using their UAN and password.

Advantages and Types of the ELI Program
The ELI scheme’s three sub-schemes are intended to improve job creation and provide new hires with financial assistance:

For those who are new to the formal sector.
In three installments up to ₹15,000, the government gives the worker a month’s income.
Workers who make up to ₹1 lakh per month are qualified.
Plan B
-To create more jobs in the manufacturing industry.
– For the first four years, the government will pay a portion of the companies’ and workers’ EPFO payments.
Plan C
– Promotes the creation of more jobs in all areas.
– For workers earning up to ₹1 lakh per month.
– For two years, employers will get up to ₹3,000 per employee.
The UAN Activation Deadline Has Been Extended
It was originally scheduled to conclude on November 30, 2024, but it was then extended to December 15, 2024, and is now extended until January 15, 2025. New hires would have extra time to connect their Aadhaar to bank accounts and activate their UAN as a result.
