State Bank of India (SBI) has launched a TAB-based end-to-end digital on-boarding process for Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) to streamline the opening of NRE (Non-Resident External) and NRO (Non-Resident Ordinary) accounts.
This initiative, which employs digital tools to enhance the efficiency and convenience of account opening, will be available across SBI branches in India and select foreign offices, India’s largest Bank said in a statement.
It eliminates the need for physical paperwork, enabling faster account opening both at branches and during customer visits by digitally verifying documents, per the statement.
Challa Sreenivasulu Setty, Chairman of SBI, said this end-to-end digital solution will drastically reduce turnaround time and deliver a truly seamless digital experience.
