The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has given the facility of online updates for free. You can get Aadhaar updated for free till 14 June 2025. After this, a fee will have to be paid for updating Aadhaar. Although UIDAI recommends updating Aadhaar once in 10 years, it is not mandatory.
Now the question arises what can you update for free? The answer is that address, mobile number and Gmail ID can be updated for free. At the same time, for photo and biometric updates, you will have to go to the Aadhaar center. There is a charge to update the details by going to the Aadhaar center.
How to update Aadhaar (Online Aadhaar Card Update step by step)
Step 1: First of all you have to go to the official ID of UIDAI ().
Step 2: Now select My Aadhaar and select the option of 'Update Your Aadhaar' from the dropdown menu.
Step 3: Now a new page will open, select 'Update Aadhaar Details (Online)'. Now log in with the help of the Aadhaar number and captcha.
Step 4: Enter the OTP received on the registered mobile number for login.
Step 5: After filling in the OTP, you have to select the option that you want to update. Now fill in all the information correctly.
Step 6: After filling in all the details, submit and upload the documents related to the update. After this click on 'Submit Update Request'.
Step 7: Now you will be shown the request number. With the help of this number, you can track your update request.
