Which bank's ATM card has more accidental insurance?
Whether it is a private bank or a government bank, they provide complimentary insurance cover with ATM cards. SBI also provides two types of insurance cover to its customers. According to the information given on the website of State Bank of India, Personal Accidental Insurance (Death) Non Air and Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death) are provided. Card holders get this facility according to the category of ATM card. Help is given to the nominee in case of injury or death. However, there are many conditions for this.
What are the insurance terms on SBI ATM Card
Personal Accidental Insurance (Death) Non-Air Insurance cover provides insurance to the debit card holder for sudden death apart from travel by flight.
Under the Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death) insurance cover, banks provide coverage to debit card holders only for air accidental death.
In both the conditions, if the ATM card has been used during 90 days from the date of the accident, then you can claim for the insurance cover.
How much insurance on which SBI card
1. SBI Gold Card
Personal Accidental Insurance (Death) on SBI Gold Master Card or Visa Card Insurance up to Rs 2 lakh is given in non-air cards. Insurance up to Rs 4 lakh is given in Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death).
2. SBI Platinum Card
If you have SBI Platinum Master Card or Visa Card, then in case of Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death), you get insurance coverage of up to Rs 5 lakh. Whereas, in Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death), insurance cover of up to Rs 10 lakh is given.
3. SBI Pride Card
SBI Pride Business Debit MasterCard or Visa Card with Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death) offers insurance up to Rs 2 lakh. Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death) offers insurance cover up to Rs 4 lakh.
4. SBI Premium Card
Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death) up to Rs 5 lakh is available on SBI Premium Business Debit Master Card or Visa Card and Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death) card up to Rs 10 lakh is available on it.
5. SBI Visa Signature Card
SBI Visa Signature Master Card Debit Card holders who have a Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death) card are given insurance coverage up to Rs 10 lakh. Whereas, those who have a Personal Air Accidental Insurance (Death) card are given insurance up to Rs 20 lakh.
How to claim
If the ATM card holder dies in an accident, then the nominee of the card holder has to go to the bank branch where the account is held.
A claim application has to be submitted to the bank for compensation.
Necessary documents have to be submitted to the bank.
