Generally we use various utility services like electricity bill, water bill, gas bill, internet. These services are paid on a monthly or yearly basis. Some pay bills at the end of the month or year. Sometimes there may be delay in paying bills. That's why NPCI has introduced a new AutoPay feature for UPI users to pay bills on time. This new AutoPay enables timely payment of bills.

Apart from utility services, Autopay is also available for app subscription and online services. Your account can be set to automatically debit a certain amount each month or year. You or someone else on your behalf activates AutoPay for some service in your UPI account.

 

However, this UPI AutoPay feature can easily check whether your UPI account has access to any services. How to enable autopay in your UPI accounts? Or know how to disable it? Similar to other UPI apps. For example.. Now let's see how you can disable this autopay option in phonepay.

  • Open the UPI app on your phone.
  • Click on your profile photo in the top left corner.
  • Search for AutoPay under the Manage Payments section.
  • Click the Autopay option.
  • You can see the services that Autopay has access to.
  • If you want to pause AutoPay click on the service and then 'Pause'.
  • Autopay can also be disabled by scrolling down and tapping on 'Delete Autopay'.
