Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) is a scheme of the Government of India that provides free LPG gas connections to poor households. Free LPG connection is provided under this scheme. This scheme is proving to be very beneficial for families living below the poverty line. One can also apply online to avail the benefits of this scheme.
Follow these steps to apply online-
1. Visit the official website of PMUY https://www.pmuy.gov.in/
2. Click on the “Apply for New Ujjwala 2.0 Connection” option.
3. Enter your Aadhaar card number and mobile number linked with your Aadhaar.
4. Click on the “Send OTP” button
5. Enter the OTP received on your mobile.
6. Fill in your name, address and other required information.
7. Click on the submit button.

You can also apply offline. For this, you have to contact the nearest LPG distributor in the area.
Who can apply-
1. Applicant must be a female.
2. Applicant must be above 18 years of age.
3. The annual family income of the applicant should be less than 1 lakh rupees in rural areas and less than 2 lakh rupees in urban areas.
4. The applicant's family should not have any LPG connection.

Required Documents:
1. Applicant's Aadhaar Card.
2. Aadhaar card of the applicant's family members.
3. Bank account passbook.
4. Address proof.
