by tweeting UIDAI has given information by tweeting from the official X handle that the date of free Aadhaar update has been extended to 14 September 2024, which was earlier 14 June 2024. However, this free Aadhaar service will be available on My Aadhaar portal. If you go to an Aadhaar centre and update your Aadhaar via offline mode, you will have to pay a service charge of Rs 50, which is currently free for the online mode.
Which documents will be required
for Aadhaar update? Identity card and address proof. Apart from this, PAN card can be given as identity proof and voter card for address. Please note that this is the third time when the date of Aadhaar card update has changed. In such a situation, you should get your Aadhaar updated as soon as possible.
Update this way sitting at home
- You have to visit UIDAI website myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/.
- Then you will have to tap on the option of Update Aadhaar.
- After this you will have to login by entering Aadhaar number and OTP.
- Then you have to verify by clicking on document update.
- Scans of identity card and address proof will have to be uploaded in the drop down menu.
- After this you have to click on the Submit button.
- A request number will be generated for you.
- After this you will be able to check the status of Aadhaar update.
