Benefit of Rs 300
The central government gives a subsidy of Rs 300 to the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Under this, the beneficiaries get a cylinder 300 rupees cheaper than the general customers. For example, in the country’s capital Delhi, general customers get LPG cylinders for Rs 803. At the same time, Ujjwala beneficiaries are getting cylinders for Rs 503 after a discount of Rs 300.
Gift for eight months
The beneficiaries covered under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana will get a subsidy of Rs 300 on LPG till March 31, 2025. This means that for the next 8 months, customers will be able to avail a discount of Rs 300. Let us tell you that the beneficiaries of the scheme are given 12 refills in a year. Under the scheme, a subsidy of Rs 300 is available only on 14.2 kg cylinders.
Started in 2016
This scheme was started in the year 2016. Talking about the beneficiaries of the scheme, there are more than 9 crore people. At the same time, the government is working on a plan to provide 75 lakh new connections under the scheme. In this way, there will be more than 10 crore beneficiaries. The objective of this scheme is to help poor families take their first step and bring behavioural changes towards hygienic cooking.
