After this a page will open on your screen. There you enter your 12 digit Aadhar number. After this the security code will be sent to the box through OTP, enter it there. Then you have to click on the Verify option. If your Aadhar number is valid then you will see it. If your Aadhar has expired, then the Aadhar number will not be visible.

Why does the Aadhaar card expire? : Now the question arises that why does the Aadhaar card expire. There are some rules and conditions regarding the Aadhaar card. If you have got a blue Aadhaar card made for your children, then it expires after five years. The Aadhaar card of children above 5 years and 15 years of age will have to be updated by going to any Aadhaar center. Because the childhood picture, fingerprint and retina of the finger changes after 15 years, that is why the Aadhaar card of children should be updated before 15 years. If it is not updated on time, then the Aadhaar card of those children expires.

How to renew your Aadhaar card? : You can renew a cancelled Aadhaar card. For this, you will have to go to a UIDAI centre or a bank to get it updated. UIDAI only asks to update biometric data at the age of 5 years and 15 years. To update biometric data, you will have to go to your nearest Aadhaar centre. Here your biometric details like fingerprint, iris and photograph will be updated.

If there is any error, get it updated : Apart from this, if the mobile number linked to your Aadhaar or your date of birth is wrong, you can also get it updated. For this, you will have to pay a fee. Within a week of the update date, a message will come on your mobile that your updated Aadhaar card has been made. You can get it from any cyber cafe.
