Bhopal. UIDAI has made a big change in the process of making a new Aadhaar card. Under this, if people of 18 years or above enrol for Aadhaar, they will get the card in a maximum of 6 months. After enrolling in the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI), the person will be verified at the national, state and district i.e. local level. From now on, this three-tier verification system has been implemented.

Now after getting enrolled from the Aadhaar Seva Kendra, the data of the person will first reach UIDAI's data centre in Bengaluru. From there it will be sent to the capital for verification. After this, it will be sent to the district related to the capital. Only after verification at these three levels, the person will be able to get the Aadhaar card. The process of verification has been started at the state level and district level.
Changes made due to fake Aadhaar cards
The new system has been implemented keeping in view all security aspects. In the first phase of the Aadhaar scheme, after enrollment in 2010-11, the people who got Aadhaar cards made, at that time private agencies were also responsible for making Aadhaar. At that time enrollment was done based on verbal information given by the applicant. Some of these Aadhaar cards were found to be fake. Let us tell you that about 17 cases of fake Aadhaar cards were reported in the capital Bhopal 5 years ago.
It is necessary to update 10-year-old Aadhaar.
According to the officials, it is necessary for people having Aadhaar cards 10 years or older to update their address and identity. For updating the Aadhaar card, provision has been made for updating through both online and offline modes. The deadline for online free updates has also been extended thrice. Last month this deadline was fixed from 14 June to 14 September. In online updates, it is also mandatory to upload documents related to both address and identity. Without this, the update is not possible. Whereas in offline updates, biometric data (fingerprint, iris scan or face authentication) is also being used.
