Bollywood actress turned Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut has requested the state Director General of Police to provide her security after a CISF Constable allegedly slapped her at the Chandigarh Airport recently.

In a letter mailed to Himachal Pradesh Director General of Police Atul Verma on Saturday, the Bollywood actress requested that she be provided security cover considering the threat level to her.

DGP informed the MP that action would be taken by the state law and order unit to provide security after assessing the threat level.According to a former IAS officer she was entitled to security as soon she was issued an election certificate by the Returning Officer.

Taking to her social media platform X Kangana wrote she is safe but the alleged incident is alarming as it shows the increasing militancy and rising threat perception.

It is worthwhile to mention that Bollywood actress also faced a similar situation at Kaza in Spiti district while she was addressing a public meeting during her election campaign.FIR was lodged on the complaint of a BJP office bearer against the Congress party in this regard.

Kangana Ranaut supported the three farm laws and condemned the farmer's agitation. She was heckled by some people in the past over making statements against farmers and Tibetan Spiritual leader Dalai Lama. (UNI)
