Basic Instinct star Sharon Stone has announced the death of her brother Michael, who passed away yesterday, aged 74. The American actress said he sadly died of an "extended illness". Sharon, 68, shared on social media: "Mike Stone, my oldest brother, has passed away. Following an extended illness. We wish him peace," before signing off: "Sharon, Roan, Laird & Quinn."

Sharon has faced major heartbreak in recent years following the deaths of her mother, brother and baby nephew, who was just 11 months old when he passed away from organ failure. Michael was an actor who appeared in Malevolence and Eraser, as well as the 1995 movie The Quick And The Dead, alongside Russell Crowe and Leonardo DiCaprio.

Tributes have been flooding in following the news of his passing, with DJ and record producer D-Nice saying: "Sending you love. My deepest condolences to your family."

Another echoed: "Oh Sharon, I'm so very, very sorry - your family has experienced too much loss. Sending love to you and your sons."

A third said: "May his return to the light be gentle and sweet. May he rest in peace."

Meanwhile, a fourth penned: "Sending you and your family deep sympathy and love, Sharon." Another said: "So very sorry. God bless him."

It's been a heartbreaking few years for Sharon after her mum Dorothy died aged 91 just over a year ago.

Ahead of her mother's passing, Sharon cared for her at her Beverly Hills home, in Los Angeles, California.

The death came not long after her brother Patrick died in 2023 on Super Bowl Sunday after suffering from heart disease.

Sharon said at the time: "Hello everybody, this message is to confirm that, yes, we did lose my brother, Patrick Joseph Stone, to a heart attack yesterday.

"Yes, he is the man who was the father to River who we lost last year at 11 months old. He is survived by his wife, Tasha, his son, Hunter, and his daughter, Cailee."
