Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam honoured with honorary fellowship in UK

London. Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam in Britain has been awarded an honorary fellowship by the leading Indian diaspora student organization for his worldwide influence and contribution in the field of music. Sonu Nigam is currently in Britain to participate in a concert. Britain’s ‘National Indian Students and Alumni Union’ (NISAU) honored him with the fellowship during Nigam’s performance at Wembley Arena in London last weekend. Senior British Indian MP Virendra Sharma of the Labor Party and Rachel Dwyer, Emeritus Professor of Indian Culture at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS), honored Nigam on stage. Earlier, this honorary fellowship has been awarded to many other personalities including actress Shabana Azmi, writer Javed Akhtar and spiritual guru Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. This fellowship is given to those individuals who have a significant impact on Indian cultural, education and social reform on the global stage. After receiving the honor, Sonu Nigam said, “Thank you NISAU for your love and this honor. I consider it another precious gift from God.”
