You can update your Aadhaar card for free as the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) is offering free Aadhaar card updates. This service is available till June 14. Under the Digital India initiative, the government has given the facility to people to update their Aadhar cards for free.
Aadhaar card update
UIDAI had initially set March 14 as the deadline for free Aadhaar card updates. However, this deadline has been extended till June 14. Those who have not yet updated their Aadhaar card can do so without any charges. This free service is available on myAadhaar portal https://myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in/. Those who visit CSC centers and upload their information will have to pay Rs 50.
Steps to follow
You can update your Aadhar card sitting at home by visiting the UIDAI website.
Click on myAadhaar portal on the homepage.
Then, you will receive an OTP on your registered mobile number after entering your Aadhaar number.
Log in by entering OTP.
After logging in, you will have to check your details. If they are correct, tick the check box.
If the demographic details are incorrect, select the documents from the drop-down menu and upload the same.
You can upload documents in JPG, PNG, and PDF formats.
By following these steps, you can update your Aadhar card for free while sitting at home.
