Without a doubt, digital payments are now very easy, thanks to the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). Many Indians now like using UPI for both large and small transactions. Saying that UPI has revolutionized the world of digital payments is not hyperbole. WhatsApp launched a test version of its UPI-based payment functionality in 2020. It introduced UPI payments for its Indian consumers after its success.

With an estimated 535.8 million users by 2024, WhatsApp’s large subscriber base in India is a major benefit for its UPI service. However, in terms of in-person transactions, WhatsApp still lags behind PhonePe and Google Pay.
Here are the easy procedures to activate the UPI payment over WhatsApp if you’ve been considering it:
Go into the recipient’s WhatsApp conversation box and initiate the payment. Press the symbol for the attachment.
Accept the terms and conditions by selecting the “Payment” option.
Type in the desired transfer amount, your UPI pin, and then watch for the payment to be processed.
In this sense, emailing documents or sending a text message may now be used to make payments. Notification of the payment is sent directly to the recipient and payee via the WhatsApp chat window. If someone wants to verify the payment status, they may verify the transaction data via the bank or refer to the bank transfer details on the SMS.
SETTINGS FOR WHATSAPP UPI Once WhatsApp is open, choose Settings.
Choose the Payments menu item.
Click on the “Add new account” link.
Select your bank from the provided alternatives. Verify that the bank account you have chosen is connected to your UPI account.
You will be required to create a UPI pin after you have chosen the bank account.
After setting up the UPI pin, you may start using WhatsApp UPI for transactions.
In addition to UPI payments, money transfers may also be made using the WhatsApp QR scan function.
