If your Aadhar card is 10 years old then the government has given you a big relief. The government had set March 14 as the date for free updating of Aadhaar cards, but now this date has been extended to June. If your Aadhar card is 10 years old then get it updated soon. While sharing a post on X and Facebook, UIDAI has said that the date for free Aadhar card update has been extended to June 14, 2024. Let us tell you how to update Aadhar card.
Aadhaar update last date
The last date to update Aadhaar card for free on MyAadhaar portal is June 14, 2024. After June 14, 2024, you will have to update your identity and address proof documents for Aadhaar card by paying a fee.
Initially, UIDAI had made this Aadhaar card document update facility free online till 14th March 2024 and later extended it till 14th June 2024 due to positive response from the residents. Thus, the facility to update Aadhaar card documents will remain free online on myAadhaar portal till June 14, 2024. UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) is urging people to update Aadhaar card, i.e. Proof of Identity (POI) and Proof of Address (POA) documents.
Fees for Aadhar Card Update
There is no charge for online Aadhaar card update on myAadhaar portal till June 14, 2024. However, this update facility is not free if you do it offline at a physical Aadhaar centre. You will have to pay a fee of Rs 50 while updating the documents for your Aadhar card at Aadhar centres. After June 14, 2024, you will have to pay a fee of Rs 25 to update your Aadhaar card documents online on the myAadhaar portal.
How to update Aadhar card for free?
-Go to MyAadhaar portal.
-Click on the ‘Login’ button. Enter your Aadhaar number, captcha code and click on ‘Send OTP’ button. Enter the OTP and click on the ‘Login’ button.
-Click on ‘Document Update’ button.
-After reading the guidelines, click on the ‘Next’ button.
– On the ‘Verify your demographic details’ page, click on the ‘I verify that the above details are correct’ box and click on ‘Next’.
-Upload the ‘Proof of Identity’ and ‘Proof of Address’ documents and click on ‘Submit’.
– You will receive a ‘Service Request Number (SRN)’ in your email. You can track your document update status from SRN.
Your Aadhaar card details will be updated within seven working days.
