Israel rejects Trump-Iran deal, again threat of war looms…

New Delhi. US efforts to establish peace in the Middle East have suffered a major setback. Despite US President Donald Trump’s claims of agreements made with Iran to reduce nuclear material and regional tensions, the threat of war between Israel and Iran is not yet over. The biggest reason for this uncertainty is that Israel seems to completely disagree with this American deal.

Instead of stopping, Israel has intensified its military operations and air strikes against Iran and its supported groups (such as Hezbollah and other militias). The stance of the Benjamin Netanyahu government makes it clear that it is in no mood to leave its national security at the mercy of Washington’s diplomatic efforts, which has once again raised the possibility of a large-scale war in the region.

The Donald Trump administration recently unveiled a so-called blueprint to seize or destroy Iran’s enriched uranium in exchange for relief from heavy financial sanctions and reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. But Israel has emerged as the biggest obstacle to the claims of this diplomatic victory.

Israel believes that any agreement with Iran cannot be sustainable or reliable unless Tehran’s nuclear program is completely destroyed and its proxy network in the region is completely dismantled.

Israel fears that under the cover of this deal, Iran will get a chance to become economically strong again and develop nuclear weapons at its secret bases. This is the reason why despite American objections, Israel is continuously targeting Iran’s strategic targets.

    Israeli attacks have not stopped

Ignoring the announcements of the US President, the Israeli Air Force and the intelligence agency Mossad have continued attacking Iranian targets inside Iran and in its neighboring countries (such as Syria and Lebanon). Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has given clear indications that when it comes to Israel’s existence and security, he will not bow to any international pressure.

Israel’s strategy is that before Trump’s deal is fully implemented on the ground and Iran gets any security cover, its military infrastructure should be weakened so much that it will not be in a position to retaliate. These continuous attacks by Israel are directly challenging the sovereignty of the US-mediated peace process.

Ammo crisis may increase in the Middle East

Diplomatic analysts believe that if the US pursues a unilateral agreement with Iran without taking into account Israel’s concerns, its consequences could be extremely fatal. If Iran retaliated or used its ballistic missiles in response to Israeli attacks, the agreement would collapse before it could come into force.

Additionally, if Iran felt that Israeli attacks were not stopping despite the US deal, it could itself withdraw from the agreement. Can further accelerate its stalled nuclear activities. In such a situation, this ‘historic peace deal’ of Trump may remain limited to papers only. It can push the entire region into a war which will not be possible even for America to handle.
