Japan unveil their FIFA World Cup 2026 home and away kits: Release details, prices, and design inspiration
Take a first look at Japan’s official 2026 FIFA World Cup kits, created by adidas, which blend performance-driven innovation with deep cultural meaning. The new range celebrates Japan’s identity through design elements inspired by the “Hinomaru” flag and artistic interpretations of the country’s natural landscapes. With the World Cup drawing closer, these kits are already creating a buzz among fans across the globe.
Japan Home Kit
The home jersey continues Japan’s tradition of wearing blue, now enhanced with an abstract graphic featuring ash-blue linear accents. The pattern reflects the misty meeting point of the sky and sea, visually symbolising the nation’s horizon. A small Japanese flag appears on the back of the collar as a subtle tribute to national pride. Using adidas’s Climacool+ fabric technology, the design ensures players stay cool and comfortable throughout their matches.
The home kit is currently available for purchase. In Japan, the replica version costs ¥13,200, while the authentic player edition is priced at ¥19,800. In the United Kingdom, the replica is listed at approximately £85 and the authentic shirt at £120.
Japan Away Kit
The away kit takes inspiration from the concept of “Colours Beyond the Horizon”, featuring a striped pattern with 12 unique colours that symbolise unity and connection among the Japanese people, both on and off the field. Set against an off-white base, 11 fading vertical lines cascade down the front in a rain-like effect, representing each of the 11 players on the pitch. A striking central stripe in the red hue of the national flag’s sun symbolises the heart of the team — its supporters. Like the home kit, a Japanese flag sits at the back of the neck, signifying collective identity and pride.
The away kit is also available for sale, priced identically to the home version — ¥13,200 for the replica and ¥19,800 for the authentic shirt in Japan. In the UK, the replica retails for around £85, while the authentic version is available for £120.
