Tezzbuzz Desk- The long-running turmoil in Karnataka politics now appears to be reaching a decisive turn. According to sources, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has agreed to resign, respecting the instructions of the party high command. It is being told that Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala had come to meet the Chief Minister with Rahul Gandhi’s message, after which the incident changed rapidly.

According to the information, Siddaramaiah has made it clear that he is ready to step down from the post of Chief Minister and may soon meet Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot and submit his resignation. However, he has also put some conditions. Sources say that after his resignation, a demand has been made to give his son a place in the cabinet. At the same time, the final decision regarding the Rajya Sabha seat has not been taken yet.

The Congress leadership was mulling over the change of leadership in Karnataka for a long time. The party high command had recently asked Siddaramaiah to make way for Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. Since then the political turmoil had intensified. Now it is believed that DK Shivakumar can become the next Chief Minister of the state.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah met several ministers and MLAs at his residence. Many leaders appealed to him not to step down, but he made it clear that he had conveyed his views to the party high command and would respect its decision. Some MLAs also suggested calling a meeting of the legislature party on this issue, but the Chief Minister did not give any positive response to this.

Senior Congress MLA R.V. Deshpande also claimed that Siddaramaiah had informed him about his decision to resign. According to Deshpande, this decision is definitely shocking for many leaders, but the Chief Minister has decided to keep the promise made to the high command.

At the same time, Congress General Secretary and Karnataka in-charge Randeep Singh Surjewala said while talking to the media that at present no meeting of the legislature party has been called and no official decision has been announced by the party. He appealed to the leaders and media not to speculate on this issue.

If Siddaramaiah resigns, there will be a major change of leadership in the 3 year old Karnataka government. In such a situation, now all eyes are on the Congress High Command and the official announcement of the name of the next Chief Minister.
