The league stage of IPL 2026 is over. This time even big teams like Chennai Super Kings, Mumbai Indians and Kolkata Knight Riders could not make it to the playoffs. This season, many big Indian star players also could not live up to the expectations and proved to be a complete flop. These include the names of Mumbai captain Hardik Pandya and Lucknow captain Rishabh Pant. Both of them were neither able to lead the team to victory with their captaincy nor could they perform anything special with the bat.

The picture of IPL 2026 playoffs has become clear. Royal Challengers Bangalore is at the top in the points table, while Gujarat Titans are at second place. These two teams will face each other in Qualifier-1 on 26th May. At the same time, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals have also confirmed their place in the playoffs. These two teams will play the eliminator match on 27th May. After this, Qualifier-2 will be played on 29th May and then the final match of IPL 2026 will be held on 31st May.

These 5 Indian players proved to be flops

  • Hardik Pandya: Mumbai Indians, captained by Hardik Pandya, could not do anything special in IPL 2026. The team won only 4 out of 14 matches and stood at number 9 in the points table. At the same time, Hardik Pandya’s own performance was also not good. He scored only 206 runs in 10 matches and could not do anything special in bowling, taking only 4 wickets.
  • Rishabh Pant: Rishabh Pant’s Lucknow Super Giants team could not do anything special this season either. The team could win only 4 out of 14 matches and remained at the bottom i.e. 10th in the points table. Pant’s performance was also not very helpful for the team. He scored a total of 312 runs in 14 matches at an average of 28.36. Only one half-century was included in this. His best score was 68 runs, in which he returned unbeaten on 50 balls.
  • Jasprit Bumrah: This is the first time in the history of IPL that Jasprit Bumrah has taken less than 5 wickets in a single season. Earlier, he had taken 3 wickets in the IPL 2025 season. Whereas in 2026, he could take only 4 wickets in 13 matches. As a result, this season in IPL proved to be a complete flop for him.
  • Suryakumar Yadav: Suryakumar Yadav’s IPL 2026 season was nothing special and was considered a flop. This season he played 13 matches and scored a total of 270 runs at an average of 20.76. This included 2 half-centuries. Besides, he was also out twice without opening the account i.e. on a duck.
  • Varun Chakraborty: Varun Chakraborty could not leave much impact with his bowling. He played 11 matches in IPL 2026, in which his economy was 8.78 and he could take only 11 wickets. However, he definitely took 3-3 wickets in two matches.
