New Delhi: The picture of IPL 2026 playoffs is now completely clear. Rajasthan Royals made it to the playoffs by defeating Mumbai Indians in their last league match. With this win, Rajasthan became the fourth and final team to qualify for the knockout stage. Whereas the journey of Punjab Kings and Kolkata Knight Riders in the tournament ended.
Mumbai lost by 30 runs
In the match played at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, Rajasthan Royals batted first and scored a strong score of 205 runs. In reply, Mumbai Indians could not reach the target and lost the match by 30 runs. After this important victory, Rajasthan’s total points became 16, due to which the team confirmed its place in the playoffs.
Earlier, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Gujarat Titans and Sunrisers Hyderabad had already made it to the last four. At the end of the league stage, Bengaluru topped the points table, while Gujarat stood second and Hyderabad third. Rajasthan Royals stood fourth and got the playoff ticket at the last moment.
Now the excitement of the tournament is going to increase further, because the playoff matches are going to start soon. The first qualifier will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans. The winning team of this match will directly enter the finals. However, the losing team will also have one more chance to remain in the title race.
On the other hand, the eliminator match will be played between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals. The losing team in this match will be out of the tournament, while the winning team will reach Qualifier-2. In Qualifier-2, the winning team of the Eliminator will face the losing team of Qualifier-1. The team that wins this match will reach the final.
Where will the playoff matches be held?
Different cities have been assigned hosting for the playoff matches. Qualifier-1 will be held at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium, Dharamshala. The Eliminator and Qualifier-2 matches will be played at Maharaja Yadvind Singh International Cricket Stadium, New Chandigarh.
The final match of IPL 2026 will be held on May 31 at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Cricket fans are now going to see very exciting matches in the title battle, where all four teams will be seen trying their best to win the trophy.
