Al-Nassr finally lifted the Saudi Pro League trophy after sealing the title on the final day of the season.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s long wait to claim the Saudi Pro League crown has finally come to an end.

The Portuguese superstar joined Al-Nassr in 2023, but until now, his best finishes with the club had been two runners-up places and a third-place finish, losing out to Al-Ittihad once and Al-Hilal twice.

Just last week, Ronaldo was the subject of some light-hearted mockery when a 98th-minute own goal from a teammate against title rivals Al-Hilal delayed their championship celebration and forced the title race to go down to the wire.

A loss against relegation-threatened Damac, combined with an Al-Hilal win at Al-Fayha, would have left Ronaldo and his teammates empty-handed once again.

However, Al-Nassr ensured a smooth conclusion to their campaign, cruising to a 4-1 victory that also confirmed Damac’s relegation.

Sadio Mane opened the scoring for Al-Nassr with a header in the 33rd minute, before Kingsley Coman doubled the advantage six minutes into the second half with a precise curling effort.

Damac briefly found hope when Morlaye Sylla converted a penalty following a handball — their only shot on target throughout the match.

But Ronaldo quickly restored control, striking twice to seal the title for Al-Nassr. His first goal came from an acrobatic strike at head height from a tight angle that somehow found its way through a congested box and into the far corner.

He then made the result certain ten minutes from time, reacting sharply to a deflected cutback from the byline and blasting the ball into the net.

Ronaldo was substituted three minutes before full time to a thunderous ovation, only to return afterward to lead the celebrations with fans and teammates. The Portuguese forward was seen banging a large drum and wearing a small flag as a headband in the post-match festivities.

This triumph marks Al-Nassr’s 11th league championship and Ronaldo’s eighth domestic league title overall — adding to his three Premier League wins with Manchester United, two La Liga triumphs with Real Madrid, and two Serie A titles with Juventus.

Ronaldo will now travel to join the Portugal national team as they prepare for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
