The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an 'Orange Alert' for the capital Delhi and surrounding areas. The temperature may touch a dangerous level of 47 degrees Celsius on Thursday. According to meteorologists, this severe heat wave will continue till at least May 26. In the assembly all students are advised to stay indoors during the afternoon and keep themselves hydrated.

2. Relief news: Monsoon will hit Kerala by May 26
There is a very good news for the country amidst the scorching heat. According to the IMD forecast, the southwest monsoon will reach Kerala about a week before its normal date (June 1), i.e. by May 26. Monsoon is rapidly moving towards the Bay of Bengal, due to which good rains are expected in Bihar and Jharkhand till mid-June.
3. NEET-UG 2026 paper leak: 10th arrest by CBI, big statement from NTA chief
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested coaching operator Shivraj Motegaonkar from Latur, Maharashtra in the NEET-UG paper leak case. This is the 10th arrest in this case. On the other hand, the NTA chief has refused to consider it as an official "leak" before the parliamentary committee. This examination will be conducted again for the students on June 21, 2026.
4. PM Modi returned to India after completing his historic tour of five nations
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has returned home after completing his five-day tour of UAE, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy. During the visit, India and the Netherlands signed 17 cooperation agreements in the semiconductor and defense sectors.
