Ahmedabad. Thanks to the brilliant half-centuries of Sai Sudarshan (84), captain Shubman Gill (64) and Jos Buttler (57 not out), Gujarat Titans scored a huge score of 229 runs for four wickets against Chennai Super Kings in the 66th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Thursday.
Today here Chennai Super Kings won the toss and decided to bowl first. Coming to bat for Gujarat Titans, the opening pair of Shubman Gill and Sai Sudarshan gave a good start to their team by adding 125 runs for the first wicket. In the 13th over, Spencer Johnson broke this partnership by dismissing Shubman Gill.
Shubhman Gill played an innings of 65 runs in 37 balls, hitting seven fours and three sixes. On the second ball of the 19th over, Anshul Kamboj got Sai Sudarshan caught out on the boundary. Sai Sudarshan scored 84 runs in 53 balls with seven fours and four sixes. On the next ball of the same over, Rahul Tewatia was run out without opening the account.
Washington Sundar (seven runs) was caught out by the wicketkeeper on the last ball of the innings. Gujarat Titans scored a huge score of 229 runs for four wickets in 20 overs. Jos Buttler scored unbeaten 57 runs in 27 balls hitting five fours and four sixes. For Chennai Super Kings, Mukesh Chaudhary, Spencer Johnson and Anshul Kamboj dismissed one batsman each.
