A tragic incident in Palakkad claimed the life of Suresh Kumar after he fell from a jackfruit tree. He was reportedly climbing the tree to pluck a jackfruit for a meal when the accident occurred, leading to his untimely death.
PALAKKAD: A 57-year-old man, Suresh Kumar from Kottappuram in Sreekrishnapuram, died after a tragic fall from a jackfruit tree on Wednesday morning.
The incident took place around 9 AM when Suresh had gone to pluck a jackfruit from a tree near his home. According to reports, he intended to use the fruit to prepare curry to go with kanji for his meal. While climbing the tree, he reportedly lost his balance and fell to the ground.
In a fatal twist, he hit his head on a stone lying at the base of the tree, sustaining severe head injuries. Locals who witnessed the incident rushed to his aid and immediately shifted him to a private hospital in Vattambalam.

Despite emergency treatment efforts by doctors, Suresh Kumar could not be saved and was declared dead. His sudden demise has left the residents of Kottappuram and nearby areas in shock.
Suresh was known as a simple and hardworking man in the locality. His death has cast a pall of grief over his family and neighbours. Police and local authorities later reached the spot and completed preliminary procedures.
His body is expected to be handed over to the family after the completion of post-mortem formalities. The incident serves as a tragic reminder of how everyday household tasks can sometimes turn fatal due to unforeseen accidents.
