Fans of Emmerdale believe they've exposed a major Dawn Fletcher betrayal after a huge clue. ITV soap viewers will know that Dawn (played by Olivia Bromley) has been in a relationship with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) since early last year, when they began having an affair behind Dawn's husband Billy's (Jay Kontzle) back.
The couple, who are now engaged, faced a setback when Dawn found out that Joe had filmed Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) killing her evil brother, John (Oliver Farnworth), shortly after the Corriedale crash. Joe used the footage to blackmail Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) into planting illegal documents at Butler's Farm, resulting in Moira Dingle's (Natalie J Robb) wrongful imprisonment.
After learning that Joe was responsible for Moira's incarceration, Dawn began plotting to take her fiancé down, with the help of Moira and her husband, Cain (Jeff Hordley). Dawn has already received a large sum of money from Joe after she lied about wanting to buy Belle's (Eden Taylor-Draper) share of Take A Vow, but her plan might be over before it really gets started.
Reality kicked in for Dawn on Tuesday (May 19), as she told a shocked Moira that she can't face leaving Joe. Moira questioned Dawn's decision, but Dawn remained defiant, determined to win on her terms. Later, as Dawn went upstairs to help Clemmie Reed (Mabel Addison) with her homework, it was revealed that Joe and Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough) already knew about Dawn's betrayal.
"I'm waiting for my moment," Joe said, with Graham adding, "Don't wait too long. We can't let this go on any further. We need to deal with Dawn, [and] put a stop to her and Moira's little game for good."
During Wednesday's (May 20) episode, now streaming on ITVX, Graham urged Joe to take action against Dawn, and Joe assured him it was all in hand. Graham then returned to Home Farm to find Dawn unconscious at the bottom of the stairs.
After seeing Joe standing at the top of the staircase, Graham accused him of pushing her, before doctors confirmed that Dawn had, in fact, fainted due to low iron levels.
Once back from the hospital, Dawn told Joe, "I've got to tell you something." It looked like Dawn was about to confess, but in the end, she emotionally declared her love for Joe before the pair shared a passionate kiss.
It hasn't yet been revealed how exactly Joe and Graham found out about Dawn's plan, but some Emmerdale fans believe that one villager might have told them.
A number of eagle-eyed viewers have noticed Sam Dingle (James Hooton) looking downcast in recent episodes, with many suggesting that he could have seen Dawn coming and going at the Wishing Well cottage and decided to keep his boss, Joe, in the loop.
"How the hell has Joe found out what Dawn is up to?" one person asked on a Facebook fan page. Someone else replied: "I think Sam overheard Dawn and Moira discussing it. He was already [annoyed] with his family earlier in the episode. I reckon he told Joe what Dawn and Moira were up to."
Another added: "Maybe Sam said something to Joe," with a third saying: "Oh good shout. Sam has been acting super out of character this week."
