Chennai. The race for the IPL 2026 playoffs has now become very exciting and the onus now lies on those players who have consistently performed brilliantly throughout the season. That is, the players leading in the race for Orange and Purple Cap. On Monday, some players performed exactly the same against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

SRH’s star batsman Heinrich Klaasen had a gap of six days between matches and in his absence the orange cap was rotated among several players. But returning on Monday, he scored 47 runs in 26 balls and again reached the top of the table with 555 runs. He is just one run ahead of Sai Sudarshan and three runs ahead of Shubman Gill. Both the openers of Gujarat Titans (GT) are still strong in the race for the Orange Cap. Behind him in the top five, Virat Kohli (RCB) is at fourth place with 542 runs and KL Rahul (DC) is at fifth place with 533 runs.
Meanwhile, Klaasen’s teammate Abhishek Sharma, who scored 26 against CSK, has moved up to sixth place with 507 runs. On the other hand, Ishan Kishan gave a player of the match performance against CSK, scoring 70 runs in 47 balls and taking his total runs to 490 this season. With this he reached seventh place. Whereas Sanju Samson, after playing an inning of 27 runs against SRH, left behind Cooper Connelly of Punjab Kings and Mitchell Marsh of Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and reached the ninth position with 477 runs.
