There is great news for young aspirants preparing for the Railway ALP recruitment. The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued a notification for the recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilots, and the application process has officially commenced. According to the notification, a total of 11,127 vacancies will be filled through this recruitment drive, for which applications will be accepted from May 15 to June 14, 2026.

**Graduates with 10th Pass + ITI Qualification Can Apply**
To apply for the Railway Assistant Loco Pilot Recruitment 2026, it is mandatory for a candidate to have passed the 10th standard along with an ITI (Industrial Training Institute) certification from a recognized board or institution; alternatively, the candidate must hold a Diploma in Engineering following their 10th standard education. Candidates possessing an Engineering Degree are also eligible to apply for this recruitment.
The candidate's minimum age must not be less than 18 years, and their maximum age must not exceed 30 years. Age relaxation in the upper age limit will be granted as follows: 3 years for OBC candidates, and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. Additionally, other reserved categories and ex-servicemen will also be granted age relaxation in the upper limit as per the applicable rules. Age calculation will be based on the reference date of July 1, 2026.
**Application Fee**
Along with the submission of the application form for this recruitment, candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories are required to deposit a fee of ₹500. Conversely, candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and Persons with Disabilities (PwD) categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹250. Upon the completion of CBT-1, a fee refund of ₹400 will be issued to candidates belonging to the General, OBC, and EWS categories, while the full fee amount will be refunded to candidates belonging to the SC, ST, and PH (Divyang) categories.
**Selection Process**
Candidates seeking selection in this recruitment drive must first appear for the 1st Stage (CBT-1) and the 2nd Stage (CBT-2) examinations. Subsequently, they will be required to undergo a Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT), Document Verification (DV), and a Medical Examination (ME). A final merit list will be released following the completion of all these stages. Candidates whose names appear on this list will be appointed to the vacant positions. Upon selection, candidates will receive an initial salary of ₹19,900, in accordance with Level 2 of the pay matrix.
