JEE Advanced 2026: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee has made both question papers for JEE Advanced 2026 available on the official website, jeeadv.ac.in. Candidates who appeared for the examination can now visit the website directly to download the PDF versions of Paper 1 and Paper 2. No login credentials or other authentication details are required for this purpose.
The examination was conducted on May 17, 2026, in two sessions. The first paper was held from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, while the second paper was conducted from 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM. Thousands of students from across the country participated in this examination.
JEE Advanced Paper 1 Analysis: How was the paper?
According to students and subject experts, the Mathematics section of Paper 1 was the most lengthy and difficult. Solving many of the questions required a significant amount of time. Meanwhile, the Physics section demanded a deep conceptual understanding. Students also did not consider the Chemistry section to be easy, describing it instead as tricky and challenging.
Paper 2 Analysis: What was the difficulty level of Paper 2?
Students described Paper 2 as being quite difficult and heavily concept-based. Time management proved to be a major challenge in this paper. The Mathematics section, in particular, was considered the most difficult. Several questions required analytical thinking, precise calculations, and a high degree of accuracy.
JEE Advanced 2026 Marking Scheme: What is the marking scheme for JEE Advanced?
Paper 1
Paper 1 featured various types of questions. There was no negative marking for integer-type questions. However, for Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), Single Correct Option Questions (SCQs), and Matrix Match type questions, one mark was deducted for every incorrect answer.
Paper 2
The marking scheme for Paper 2 was as follows:
4 Single-Correct-Answer Questions: +3 marks for a correct answer and -1 mark for an incorrect answer.
5 Multiple-Correct-Answer Questions: +4 marks for a correct answer and -1 mark for an incorrect answer.
5 Integer-Based Questions: +4 marks for a correct answer and -1 mark for an incorrect answer.
4 Paragraph-Based Questions: +2 marks for a correct answer; no negative marking for an incorrect answer.
When will the JEE Advanced results be released?
According to the schedule released by IIT Roorkee, the results for JEE Advanced 2026 will be declared on June 1, 2026. Once the results are released, candidates will be able to visit the official website to check their scores, All India Rank, and other details.
