New Delhi: The Croatian Football Federation has officially announced a 26-member squad for the FIFA World Cup 2026, which will begin on June 11 in the USA, Mexico and Canada. The squad selected by the head coach Zlatko Dalic featured a balance of young and experienced players.

Croatia finished as runners-up in the 2018 edition of the tournament, and were third in the last edition. The Fiery Ones will aim to lift the World Cup trophy in the upcoming 48-team global tournament.

Legendary Luka Modric is preparing to compete in his fifth and last World Cup, and the list also includes Mateo Kovacic, Ivan Perisic, and Andrej Kramaric. Croatia will participate in Group L of the 2026 World Cup. They will start their campaign against England on June 17, and then face Panama on June 24.

Croatia will end their World Cup group stage campaign against Ghana on June 28. Before the World Cup, Croatia will face Belgium and Slovenia in friendlies. Manchester City defender Josko Gvardiol is also named in the squad after returning from a right shin bone fracture. He underwent surgery in January and returned to action in the Premier League game against Crystal Palace on May 13.

PSV forward Ivan Perisic is also set to feature in his fourth World Cup and is one of four players in the squad with more than 100 international appearances, along with Modric, Manchester City midfielder Mateo Kovacic and Hoffenheim forward Andrej Kramaric.
