The notification for the Air Force Common Admission Test 2 (AFCAT 2 2026) has been released. Nevertheless, to be eligible to apply, it remains mandatory to have secured 50 percent marks in both Physics and Mathematics in Class 12.
**Age Limit**
The applicant's age will be calculated based on July 1, 2027. To apply for the Flying Branch, candidates must be between 20 and 24 years of age; for the Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches, the age limit is 20 to 26 years.
**Selection Process: Multiple Stages**
To become a Commissioned Officer in the Indian Air Force, candidates are required to successfully clear three distinct stages. First, a written examination will be conducted. This written examination will be held at various test centers located across the country. Candidates who are shortlisted based on this written examination will be called in for an interview. Additionally, during the SSB (Services Selection Board) process, candidates will also undergo physical fitness tests, including running, push-ups, etc.
**Stipend Amount**
Candidates selected through the AFCAT examination will be provided with a monthly stipend of ₹56,100.
**Strict Rules Regarding Tattoos**
There are also strict regulations regarding tattoos for candidates appearing for the examination. Permanent tattoos on the body are not permitted. However, small tattoos are permitted on the inner side of both arms—from the elbow to the wrist—and on the back of the palms. Additionally, tribal communities will be granted exemptions in accordance with their traditions.
