Hattiyangadi: A temple of learning nestled amid lush greenery. An outdoor courtyard adorned with strings of colorful areca-nut plates, and an auditorium glowing with unique artwork.
Add to this the fragrance of books, the curiosity to listen to stories, the desire to craft tales, interactions, and joyful celebrations. This world of wonder brought together under one roof is "Akshara Ambari"!
This is a glimpse of the two-day (May 16, 17) rural children's literature festival organized by 'Udayavani' daily newspaper. The event was held at the Sri Siddhivinayak Residential School in Hattiyangadi to foster an interest in reading, writing, and creativity among students.
Children from Class 7 to PUC, along with several parents from the coastal region and various districts across the state, participated enthusiastically. The event was sponsored by the New Mangalore Port Authority (NMPA).
Dr. Sandhya S. Pai, Managing Editor of Taranga, inaugurated the program at 10:30 AM. Senior litterateur Dr. B.A. Viveka Rai, MMNL M.D. and CEO Vinod Kumar, and the Principal of Siddhivinayak Residential School, Sharan Kumar, attended as guests.
