While working in office or at home, many people are complaining of feeling a slight electric shock when they suddenly touch metallic things. In recent times, an increase in the number of such patients has been recorded at Lucknow-based King George Medical University (KGMU), where people are reaching the Neurology OPD for the treatment of this problem.

According to doctors, it is not just a case of normal static current, but sometimes various reasons to body and mental health can also be responsible for it. Experts say that conditions like continuous screen work, lack of sleep, stress and mental fatigue can also increase this sensitivity.

According to experts in the Neurology Department, in some cases this problem may be to the sensitivity of the nerves. Working while sitting in one position for a long time, wrong lifestyle and lack of physical activities can also affect the body’s response. In such a situation, the person may feel more mild shocks or unusual sensations.

Doctors also said that in some patients, vitamin deficiency, especially vitamin B12 and other neuro- nutrients, can also cause such problems. Additionally, in some cases it may also be associated with neurological causes, which requires detailed investigation.

Experts say that today’s increasing digital work culture can also play a role in increasing this problem. Constant exposure to computers, mobiles and electronic devices not only increases mental fatigue but can also affect the sensitivity of the body.

Doctors have advised people that if they are experiencing this problem again and again, then do not ignore it and consult a specialist. Adequate sleep, balanced diet, regular exercise and controlling screen time can be helpful in reducing this problem.
