Authorities in London are bracing for a major rally by Tommy Robinson on Saturday (May 16), with 11 foreign far-right activists having already been blocked from entering the UK. It comes as Sir Keir Starmer accused Mr Robinson of "peddling hatred and division".
Elsewhere, the archbishop of Canterbury, Dame Sarah Mullally, has urged people to "choose hope" ahead of the rally - the second of its kind - after more than 100,000 attended last year. Live facial recognition will be used for the first time as part of a protest policing operation, while Public Order Act conditions are being imposed on a big pro-Palestinian march and the self-styled "Unite the Kingdom" event promoted by Mr Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon.
