Actor and Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan responded to comparisons being drawn between him and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay during a recent interaction with his party workers in Mangalagiri.
The discussion surfaced after social media users began comparing the political journey of both actors following Vijay’s rise to power in Tamil Nadu.
While speaking to Jana Sena party members, Pawan said people had been messaging him and drawing parallels with developments in the neighbouring state.
“Ever since the Tamil Nadu elections and him becoming Chief Minister, people are pressuring me,” he said during the gathering.
He further added, “A lot of people have messaged me saying I should have done the same in Andhra Pradesh. But the situation here was different, so comparisons should not be made.”
The remarks came a day after Chiranjeevi reportedly had a phone conversation with Vijay. According to a statement shared by Chiranjeevi’s team, the veteran actor congratulated Vijay on taking office and wished him success in public service.
The statement also mentioned that Vijay thanked Chiranjeevi for his support regarding the piracy issue linked to his film and appreciated his recent work on screen.
On the work front, Pawan was last seen in Ustaad Bhagat Singhwhile Vijay’s upcoming project Jana Supervisor remained pending certification reports.
Earlier, actor Kamal Haasan had said that Chief Minister Vijay should no longer be viewed as a film actor, as he now carried full responsibilities of public office.
His comments came after CM Vijay’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), emerged as the single largest party in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections.
