4 New Expressways Project In Vidarbha | In the last few years, there has been a great development in road transport in Maharashtra. New roads and flyovers have been constructed in many districts. These projects are making travel even faster. Now a new road project will be launched to strengthen the development of Vidarbha. Vidarbha will get not one or two but as many as 4 highways through this project. This project has a length of 547 km and a provision of 51,906 crores has been made for this.

The green light was given to these projects in the State Infrastructure Committee meeting chaired by Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis. Interestingly, Chief Minister Fadnavis has given clear instructions to the authorities to speed up the land acquisition process and launch the project on time. All these four highways will be constructed through the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation, and the target of completion has been fixed between September and December 2028. Among these projects, the longest highway is the Nagpur-Chandrapur highway, which is 204.79 km long. This four-lane highway will connect 9 talukas of Nagpur and Chandrapur districts and will have 7 interchanges. This road is expected to greatly reduce industrial traffic, coal industry and Nagpur-Chandrapur travel time. 4 New Expressways Project In Vidarbha

Another important project is the Nagpur-Gondia Highway, which will be a six-lane road of 162.37 km length. This highway will connect the districts of Nagpur, Bhandara and Gondia. 9 interchanges are proposed on this route, which will greatly benefit trade, tourism and industrial traffic. This route is considered very important for the growing industrial sector in Vidarbha.

The third project is the Bhandara-Gadchiroli highway. The highway will be a 94.24 km long six-lane road. This road connecting Bhandara, Gondia and Gadchiroli districts will be important for improving connectivity in remote areas. There will be 6 interchanges on this highway and thus the citizens of this area will get fast and safe travel facility. 4 New Expressways Project In Vidarbha

While the fourth important project is Navegaon More-Konsari to Surjagad route, this highway will be 85.76 km long 4-lane road. This road is considered very important especially for transportation of minerals, Chief Minister Fadnavis has advised to connect this road with Mumbai-Nagpur Samriddhi Highway. This can give a big boost to industrial development in Gadchiroli and Chandrapur areas.

The cost of construction of these highways will be around 32,478 crores, while the rest will be spent on land acquisition, and other ancillary works. Due to this ambitious decision of the government, the road network in Vidarbha will be strengthened, industries will gain momentum and employment generation will get more strength.
