On Sunday, firefighters in Boston were engaged in combating a significant four-alarm fire at a residential structure located in the East Boston neighborhood. The incident began at a three-story wooden residential building on Princeton Street, where flames were initially observed on the rear side, also known as the 'Charlie' side, before advancing into the attic.
Authorities indicated that the fire spread to an adjacent building, leading to the escalation of the alarm to a fourth level, which necessitated the deployment of additional firefighting crews. Firefighters were actively using multiple hose lines to manage the fire and prevent it from spreading further.
The fire reportedly ignited around 6 PM at the address 263 Princeton St, as stated by the Boston Fire Department on social media. Firefighters encountered intense flames emanating from three decks at the back of the residence. A photo released by the fire department depicted firefighters applying water to the decks and the rear exterior of the home.
As the situation developed, the fire extended to three more buildings, prompting officials to issue a fourth alarm.
